Boeing has fired CEO Dennis Muilenberg. The company has been struggling to get back on track following two deadly crashes that grounded 737 Max planes around the world.

Saudis Sentenced in Journalist Death: 
Five people connected to the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi last year have been sentenced to death. That said, the trial was private and two of the most senior officials allegedly involved aren’t facing punishment. Khashoggi was a Saudi national who had been critical of the country. His death caused global outcry, especially after the CIA says the Saudi prince ordered the murder (which he denies).

North Korea’s “Christmas Gift”: 
North Korea says it’s threatening to deliver a “Christmas gift” to the U.S., putting officials on high alert. Some think this means North Korea is planning to test a long-range missile. If that happens, it would mean North Korea's leader is breaking his promise to President Trump. It comes as nuclear talks between North Korea and the U.S. are at a standstill.

Holiday Travel: 
It’s Christmas Eve, and millions of people are expected to be traveling to their holiday destinations. The worst travel days are expected to be Thursday and Friday, so anticipate heavy traffic on the roads. Calm weather will keep travel delays at bay in most parts of the country.

Lunch Debt Paid Off: 
Three pastors paid off $17,000 of school lunch debt at two Virginia schools with some of the church’s budget. The pastors say they did it because it sounded like a good idea, but they had no clue there was this big of a need. The pastors plan to pay off the debt again and hope to raise awareness about lunch debt across the country. About 75 percent of school districts in the U.S. have unpaid meal debt.

Verizon’s 5G Goal: 
Verizon met its goal of rolling out 5G wireless service in at least 30 cities before the end of the year. John Glenn Columbus International Airport is the first airport to get it. Of course, you need an unlimited data plan and a compatible device.

Uber vs. NYC: 
Uber and Lyft will not have to follow New York City’s new “cruising” law after all. The law was meant to limit the amount of time drivers could spend cruising and waiting for rides. The ride-sharing companies sued, saying it would hurt their drivers’ pay. A judge struck down the law, but NYC plans to appeal. Keep in mind: this doesn't impact other new laws in the city impacting ride-sharing companies.

Highest-Paid YouTube Star: 
The highest-paid YouTube star in 2019 is 8-year old Ryan Kaji, who earned a reported $26 million for doing things like science experiments, music videos and skits on his channel, which has 23 million subscribers. Anastasia Radzinskaya earned $18 million. Jeffree Star, PewDiePie, and Rhett and Link also made the top 10.

New Version of Cats: 
Universal Studios is sending theaters an updated version of Cats. Though it debuted over the weekend, the film’s director requested some improved visual effects. Many people will be celebrating Christmas tomorrow with family, food, gifts and church services.
