Listen below:

Tune in weekdays for 10-min daily news roundups:

As the 2026 Winter Olympics begin, we’re going behind the scenes with a former bobsledder.

Lauren Gibbs is an Olympic silver medalist who tried out for the U.S. bobsled team on a whim at age 30, with no background in the sport. Just four years later, she was standing on the Olympic podium at the 2018 Games.

Lauren takes us inside what the Olympics are really like — from the pressure of qualifying, to what it feels like when years of training come down to just a few turbulent minutes on the track.

We also talk about risk: walking away from a stable career, weighing “what if” against the fear of failure, and why she believes it’s never too late to try something completely unexpected.

This episode offers rare, behind-the-scenes insight into the Winter Games and a powerful reminder about betting on yourself.
