Iran, Iraq's response to airstrike: 
Iran threatened revenge and the government says it’ll no longer go along with the rules of the 2015 nuclear agreement in response to the U.S. airstrike that killed Gen. Qassem Soleimani.  Since he died in Iraq, Iraqi lawmakers voted to expel U.S. troops from the country. President Trump responded to both, threatening Iran not to retaliate and telling Iraq that U.S. troops won't leave unless they pay billions.

Americans killed in attack on Kenyan airfield: 
The terror group Al-Shabab attacked a key military base in Kenya, leaving three Americans dead. Several helicopters and vehicles were also destroyed.

First NBA player to play in four decades: 
Vince Carter of the Atlanta Hawks made history as the first player in NBA history to play in four different decades. He played his first NBA game in 1999 and is now the longest-tenured NBA player ever. Carter has said this will be his final season in the NBA.

What to expect at CES: 
The Consumer Electronics Show is happening this week in Las Vegas. Home technology is expected to dominate, with connected home locks, ovens, fridges and washing machines taking centerstage. Samsung to unveil new phones: 
Samsung just announced its official event date. The company says it'll unveil its first phones of 2020 at an event on February 11th. Industry experts expect Samsung to release the Galaxy S11 in three sizes along with another foldable phone.

Biggest online dating day of the year: 
Sunday was reportedly the busiest online dating day of the year with people signing up, matching or messaging each other on dating services. The uptick likely has to do with New Year’s resolutions, post-holiday breakups and Valentine’s Day approaching. A recent study found meeting online is now the most popular way for couples to get together.

Frozen 2 highest-grossing animated film ever: 
Frozen 2 is now the highest-grossing animated movie in history. It brought in more than $1.3 billion globally, beating Frozen and The Incredibles 2. It’s Disney’s sixth 2019 release to surpass one-billion in ticket sales; weekend box office winner Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is on its way to becoming the seventh.

Golden Globes winners: 
At the Golden Globes last night, WWI epic 1917 took home Best Picture and Best Director. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood won Best Comedy, Screenplay and Supporting Actor. On the television side, HBO’s Succession won Best Drama; Chernobyl won Best Limited Series, and Amazon’s Fleabag won Best TV Comedy. Ellen DeGeneres and Tom Hanks received special honors for their contributions to entertainment.

Money Monday - Future of fundraising:Livestreams are the new telethons. Instead of celebrities performing and encouraging you to call-in on live TV, charities are now partnering with popular video game streamers to raise money via live-streaming platforms, like Twitch. They're using auctions and rewards to push online viewers to donate. These so-called “digital telethons” are popular enough that viewers on Twitch raised $75 million between 2012 and 2017. Streamlabs is now launching a new platform dedicated to hosting charity streams.
